Profile
Tucked away in the heart of Kensington, Friends of Ours is a chain of fantastic neighbourhood restaurants, offering a relaxed, and intimate backdrop for those looking to pop in for brunch or lunch across the capital.
What started as one simple neighbourhood hangout has grown into a go-to for those who crave something a little different — yummy food, good vibes, and the kind of service that feels like catching up with an old friend. At The Serpentine, on West Carriage Drive, Friends of Ours is the latest pop-up, finding a new and exciting home in the landmark gallery. Friends of Ours is more than your average brunch joint. Think bold and unexpected flavours, and creative inspiration on every plate. The menus always change with the seasons, but are anchored by fresh, local ingredients and a love for creativity.
There are so many tasty dishes to choose from at Friends of Ours, beginning with fruit and seven seed sourdough with preserves, jam and peanut butter, a delicious brulee banana bread with ginger spiced poached banana, chocolate creme diplomat and walnut praline, and sweet white chocolate and rhubarb baked French toast with fermented strawberries, lemon chantilly and macadamia. The unique brunch dish creations continue into the savoury, with the foo-caccia sandwich stuffed with smoked streaky bacon, halloumi or smoked tofu, baby gem lettuce, mustard butter, tomato and sriracha mayo. More tasty dishes include the cilbir with poached eggs, citrus labna, vegan nduja butter, smoked eggplant, dill and toasted focaccia, and the the glazed beef rib potato bap with fried egg, smoked pickles, cafe de paris and crispy chilli.
You’ll also find an indulgent crab cake benedict with xo sauce, samphire and yuzu hollandaise, creamy burrata with heritage beetroots, and marinated carrot ribbons with creme fraiche, boiled eggs and smoked pickle sourdough toast.
